STSI Awarded Task Order under NRC Modernization Contract

STSI was awarded a task order for the requirements analysis and design of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Reactor Program System (RPS) replacement project. STSI is tasked over the next year to design a modern, integrated solution which provides NRC with optimum business processes and a new “look and feel” user experience. STSI will use an iterative (Agile) methodology in the design of the RPS replacement business functions: Planning inspection activities Scheduling work assignments Managing inspection findings and reports Decommissioning reactors, fuel facilities and independent spent fuel facilities The RPS task order was awarded under the NRC Maintenance, Operation, and Modernization (MOM), Functional Area 3 (FA3) IDIQ contract. STSI was awarded a nine-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in support of their Maintenance, Operation, and Modernization (MOM), Functional Area 3 (FA3) – Requirements and Design efforts. The full and open award, with a ceiling of up to US$50 million, will provide application modernization support services while replacing legacy technologies with secure, innovative, enterprise-wide IT solutions. In Functional Area 3, STSI will be focusing on the requirements analysis and design of new and legacy systems. STSI Baseball Outing a Success, Despite Nat’s Loss

STSI held it’s annual baseball outing on July 20, watching the Nationals take on the Atlanta Braves. The game was close, with the Braves edging out the Nat’s 11-10. The good news is that the weather held out after threats of rain, and everyone was able to fully enjoy the ballpark and the party suites. STSI to Support EIA in Stakeholder Data Collection

STSI was awarded a contract supporting the Energy Information Administration (EIA) with a national stakeholder data collection effort. The EIA needed an efficient and cost-effective tool to collect a set of highly-complex survey data from a nation-wide set of respondents. STSI proposed a solution that would meet project goals including: Leveraging existing off-the-shelf technologies Meeting a strict timeline for the high-visibility project Minimizing stakeholder burden by pre-populating available data Rather than developing a costly custom application, STSI designed a solution based on existing tools, saving a substantial amount of cost and time. STSI has been appraised at Maturity Level 3 of the Capability Maturity Model® Software Engineering (CMMI-DEV V 1.3). STSI achieved this milestone using the SCAMPI-A method, V 1.3 appraisal on its processes. This achievement reflects STSI’s focus on quality of delivery, and dedication to client success. Holiday Party at New Location

The STSI family holiday party was at a new location this year. The party was held at The Key Bridge Marriott in the Capital View Ballroom (at the top floor of the hotel). The view was spectacular and the food was delicious. The children had fun decorating cookies, coloring holiday pictures and playing with toys Santa dropped off early.
