STSI to Assist NRC in Application Systems Modernization

STSI was awarded a nine-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in support of their Maintenance, Operation, and Modernization (MOM), Functional Area 3 (FA3) – Requirements and Design efforts. The full and open award, with a ceiling of up to US$50 million, will provide application modernization support services while replacing legacy technologies with secure, innovative, enterprise-wide IT solutions.

In Functional Area 3, STSI will be focusing on the requirements analysis and design of new and legacy systems. STSI proposed a solution that would fulfill the NRC objectives including:

  • Consolidation: Assist in reducing the overall application inventory
  • Process Standardization and Tools: Use a consistent application life-cycle approach and IBM Rational tool suite
  • Reuse and Standardization: Reuse both technology artifacts and application functionality where possible
  • Technology Platform Modernization: Assist in modernization and consolidation of technical platforms
